Terms of use
Last updated 17 October 2026
The short version: use AI Plan Creator to design your own project. Each design is licensed for a single use, one project on one site, and may not be resold, shared for others to use, or used commercially in any other way. Designs are for exploration and must be checked by licensed professionals before anything is built.
1. These terms
AI Plan Creator (“we”, “us”) is an online service, run from New Zealand at aiplancreator.com and in our apps, for designing homes, other buildings, interiors and gardens with the help of AI. These terms apply whenever you use it, with or without an account, including through an AI assistant connected to it.
By using AI Plan Creator you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you use it for an organisation, you agree for that organisation. We may change these terms; we will show the date they changed at the top of this page and, for a change that matters, tell account holders by email or in the app before it takes effect.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 to use AI Plan Creator, and an adult (or have a parent's or guardian's permission) to buy anything.
- An account is for one person. Keep your sign-in to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account.
- Tell us straight away at hello@aiplancreator.com if you think someone else has used your account.
3. Plans, trials, AI credits and payment
- Free plan. The free plan is free of charge and has limits, including a number of designs and a daily allowance of AI credits. Credits are used by AI requests (the design agent, AI pictures and the like), are counted per day in coordinated universal time (UTC), and do not carry over to the next day. We may change the free plan's limits.
- Paid plans are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly in advance, at the price shown when you subscribe. Where a yearly price is offered at a discount (for example 50% off twelve months), the discount applies for as long as that yearly subscription renews at that price.
- Free trials. Where a plan offers a free trial (for example three months), it is available once per person and account. When the trial ends, the subscription continues at the plan's price unless you cancel before then; if no payment method has been given, the subscription ends with the trial. Creating extra accounts to get further trials or free allowances is not allowed.
- Cancelling. You can cancel a subscription at any time from Your plan in the app. It stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and then ends; we do not refund part periods unless the law requires it.
- Payment is taken by Stripe; we never see or keep your card number. Prices are in New Zealand dollars unless shown otherwise, and include any GST that applies.
- Store designs are bought once. Buying one gives you the licence described below, not ownership of the design.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded, such as the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986, the Australian Consumer Law, or the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015. If you buy as a consumer and something we supply does not meet those guarantees, you have the remedies the law gives you.
4. Licence: single use, never for resale
“Materials” means everything AI Plan Creator provides or produces for you: store designs, the designs, plans, drawings, elevations, sections and PDF plan sets made with it, 3D models and views, walkthroughs, photographs, renders and films, schedules and layouts, and the furniture, textures, models and other content in its catalogue.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the Materials for a single use: to plan, design and build one project on one site, for yourself or, if you are a professional, for one client. Each further project or site needs its own design or purchase.
You must not, without our written permission:
- sell, resell, license, sublicense, rent, lend or otherwise commercially exploit the Materials or any copy of them, whole or in part, changed or not;
- offer the Materials, or designs based on them, for sale or download in a plan catalogue, marketplace, website, app or any other collection;
- use one design or purchase for more than one project or site, or build it more than once;
- share, publish or give away the Materials so that others can use them (showing pictures of your own project, with credit, is fine);
- copy, scrape or download the Materials in bulk, or by automated means other than the connector we provide for AI assistants;
- use the Materials to train or improve an AI or machine-learning model; or
- remove or hide any notice of where the Materials came from.
Selling a property you have built from a design you are licensed to use is not a resale of the design. Designs you are given by others through a share link carry the same licence as they had, and no more.
5. What you put in
You keep the rights in what you upload or write (photos, briefs, notes, comments). You give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process and show it as far as we need to run AI Plan Creator for you, including sending it to the AI providers that answer your requests (see the privacy policy). You must have the right to upload what you upload.
The designs you make with AI Plan Creator are yours to use under the licence above; the generator, catalogue, store designs and site remain ours or our licensors'.
6. Designs are for exploration, not construction
Designs, drawings, plan sets, 3D views, schedules, and lighting, electrical and plumbing layouts are for planning and design exploration. They are not construction documents, they are not checked for any building code, and they must be checked, completed and certified by licensed professionals for your site and local rules before anything is built.
Planning and zoning checks (for example in Develop a section) measure a design against a selection of published standards for the places we cover, copied by hand from the planning documents named in each report. They are indicative only: rules change, sites carry overlays and conditions we do not check, and only the council or authority can decide what is allowed. A report never means a design complies or will be consented.
AI can make mistakes. Check what the AI design agent, the AI pictures and our assistants tell you before relying on it.
7. Using AI Plan Creator fairly
- Do not use AI Plan Creator for anything unlawful, harmful, deceptive or infringing.
- Do not try to break, overload, probe or get around its security, limits or payment, or access it by automated means other than the connector we provide.
- Do not upload malware, or content you do not have the right to share.
- Do not use it to build a competing service or catalogue from its designs.
8. Other services
Some parts of AI Plan Creator rely on other companies: Stripe for payments, Google or Facebook for signing in, AI providers for AI answers and pictures, and, if you connect them, AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Grok. Their own terms apply to what you do with them. We are not responsible for services we do not run.
9. Suspending or closing an account
You can stop using AI Plan Creator at any time and ask us to close your account. We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if these terms are broken, if the law requires it, or to protect AI Plan Creator or its users. The licence for Materials used for a project already under way continues for that project unless it was closed for a breach of the licence.
10. Our responsibility
We work to keep AI Plan Creator available and correct, but we provide it “as is” and do not promise it will always be available, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose, except as consumer law requires.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (such as lost profit or the cost of rework or delay), and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. These limits do not apply where the law does not permit them, including to rights under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of New Zealand, and the courts of New Zealand may decide disputes about them. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in. Please contact us first: most problems can be solved quickly.
